On August 1, the Bavaria Atelier GmbH is founded. The shareholders in the new company are the Bavaria Filmkunst AG with 49 per cent, Rundfunkwerbung Stuttgart GmbH (a subsidiary of the SDR) and Westdeutsche Werbefernsehen GmbH Köln (a subsidiary of the WDR) with 25.5 per cent. The nominal capital is 10 million DM. Bavaria Filmkunst AG contributes its share of the new foundation in kind with workshop and film technique appliances. The real property remains in its possession. It is further active in the field of film production and hiring. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Bavaria Atelier GmbH is Prof. Dr. Alex Möller, Director-General of the Karlsruher Lebensversicherungs AG life assurance company and Party Leader of the SPD in the Stuttgart State Parliament. The managing directors are: Dr. Helmut Jedele (Production), Walter Pindter (Sales), Dr. Heinz Savelsberg (Administration). Hans Gottschalk becomes head of production. The clapper board for the first Bavaria TV production falls on November 24. The title: DER EINGEBILDETE KRANKE. Michael Kehlmann is the director, Carl-Heinz Schroth plays the leading role.
