The Bavaria film city celebrates its 75th anniversary. CHARLIE & LOUISE – DAS DOPPELTE LOTTCHEN has its premiere in the Munich Filmtheater at Sendlinger Tor. On January 31, Günter Rohrbach leaves Bavaria Film after 15 years. His successor as the Managing Director for the Production area is Thilo Kleine. Private television companies can now be obtained as clients. The series SCHWURGERICHT is developed for SAT.1. For RTL, the series UND TSCHÜSS as well as first TV novels, amongst them SCHNEEWITTCHENS BABY and WEIHNACHTEN MIT WILLY WUFF, which is seen by more than seven million viewers at Christmas, are produced. 13 episodes of GEGEN DEN WIND are produced at original locations in St. Peter Ording by the North Sea for the WWF. From 1995, the ARD wishes to transmit the MARIENHOF early evening programme every day. The prerequisites for production technique are created. In North Rhine Westphalia, the subsidiary Colonia Media Filmproduktionsgesellschaft mbH is founded. The Managing Director is Dr. Georg Feil. The first production is the ARD early evening series DIE PARTNER, which is produced in Düsseldorf. In June, the private television company RTL2 moves to the Bavaria film city. In autumn, Dominik Graf's DIE SIEGER is given its premiere. Television films for the "Erste" are also successful: Veith von Fürstenberg's TATORT: MORD IN DER AKADEMIE is seen by 10.6 million viewers on April 24 (market share: 35.1 percent). The POLIZEIRUF 110: 1A LANDEIER, amongst others with Inge Meysel, is even awarded a Grimme Prize in the following year.
